I am at a well known discount store

I just want to buy a drink and some lunch

Maybe a snack

Polo mints as I have bought a tuna sandwich

I approach the till

Oh no

The trepidation

The horror

I am stricken with worry

There’s a queue behind me

People who need to catch a bus or they are on their lunch hour

The till is winning

It is yielding the power

Unexpected item in bagging area

Who do I turn too

What do I do

I am so confused

So perplexed

I only wanted to scan a few items

And be on my way

Why does this happen to me

Seemingly every day
